Hudson Valley Community College participated in the pilot Inspire Fellowship Program for the Spring 2024 term. Only HVCC, RPI, and MVCC were the colleges selected for the inaugural program. Several students applied and three were selected to be the first participants. Late April, all students did their final presentations to a panel of judges including mentors and NYSTEC staff. Our HVCC students were stellar and the department couldn’t be prouder on how they represented the department and HVCC.
I would like to recognize these students here and congratulate them on an incredible year.

The Inspire Fellowship Program, powered by the New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (NYSTEC), represents a pioneering approach to education and professional development. The program is dedicated to nurturing the talents and aspirations of students who are passionate about disruptive technologies, connecting them with real-life industry stakeholders, and fostering meaningful relationships in fields that lead to innovative solutions.
It’s an opportunity for students to bridge theory with real-world impact. It’s a paid fellowship ($22/hr for 12-15 hours per week) that provides real world experiences, can fulfill program requirements for internship credit, mentorship, networking opportunities, following a customized curriculum.
HVCC was asked to participate again for Fall 2024 and are taking applications now. All students are encouraged to apply. This is an incredible opportunity that we are fortunate to offer our students. To apply, contact the Business & Criminal Justice chair, Ricky Thibodeau, at r.thibodeau@hvcc.edu. Deadline to apply is June 14.
